    Cruisin with the Holy Spirit

    June 20, 2019

Perth rush hour and the tunnel is jam-packed. My land cruiser rides high and wide and hogs the lane nearest the west wall. It's an adrenaline rush changing lanes before merging out onto the Mitchell Freeway 2 kilometers up the track.

Before leaving the apartment I pray that the Holy Spirit keeps me on the left side of the road, safe in passing and changing lanes and below the speed limit. I've had 5 speeding tickets in 3 years.

I also pray that every driver worldwide stays safe. I haven’t checked the statistics lately, but I assume traffic accidents have declined since I started reciting this prayer.

I have total confidence that the Holy Spirit hears my prayers and takes action to keep me and others safe. Just the other day he stopped me from accidentally cutting off another driver in the tunnel. Thank God for the Holy Spirit and loud horns.

“Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you." John 16:7

“But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.”  John 16:13

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1: 8

    Love and blessings,

    Rich H.
