    Obang

    September 20, 2018

Obang is from Ethiopia. He fled to Kenya where he spent 11 years in a refugee camp because of tribal rivalries at home. He became a Christian in the camp after hearing the gospel from Kenyan missionaries. A couple of years ago Obang was granted refugee status by the Australian government.

Obang is my friend.  He is also a man with a mission, with a wife who speaks no English and two small children. He is pushing into life, studying theology in a language foreign to him.

Obang recently passed his driver’s test and now has a car, but he wants to get a better one. He works one day a week at the bible college cleaning roofs and gutters, pulling weeds and raking leaves. He is currently writing a research paper on the life of Bible translator John Wycliffe.

Obang hopes to become a missionary after he graduates from Perth Bible College. His heart is sincere and kind and his determination to succeed is rock solid.

If you feel like you would like to support Obang in his goal to complete bible college and become a missionary, you can send a check to me: Richard Handley P.O. So Philip ran to him (the Ethiopian) and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?” And he said, “How can I unless someone guides me?” Acts 8: 30-31.

How then shall they call on Him whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? Romans 10: 14-15.

    Love and blessings,

    Rich H.
