When my daughter was very young I accused her of lying. She was befuddled and had no idea what I was talking about. Children view the world through eyes of innocence. They faithfully trust and dance to the beat of a different drum.

Oh! that we all could possess the innocence of children! We would be so much happier and kinder.

Jesus said that we must become like little children to inherit the kingdom of God. He had a way of turning conventional wisdom on its head. We are not made great and mighty by our intellect or physical strength. We are made mighty by our innocence and purity, the traits children have in abundance.

So if we are seeking a place in God’s kingdom we will strive to become like little children. He who is humble will be exalted and he who exalts himself will be humbled.

If the world’s leaders possessed the purity and innocence of children we would live in a kinder and gentler place.

Watch a child playing next time you get the chance. Jesus will shine his love and affection on them through your open heart.

But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” And he laid his hands on them and departed from there. Matthew 19: 14

“Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives me.” Matthew 18: 3-5
