I’ve checked out a number of so-called spiritual paths over the years. At 18 I read Carlos Castaneda’s books about a Mexican shaman. In my early 20s, it was Richard Alpert’s “Be Here Now."

In my 40s I studied the Bhagavad Gita and attended lectures at a local Hare Krishna center. Then it was onto the teachings of the Buddha, the Dalai Lama, and Lao Tzu.

During those years I continued doing things and acting in ways that were destructive to myself and others. Even though I felt engaged in “self-improvement” by studying all these paths of "enlightenment," my life really didn’t change much.

It was only after that former life ended in a collision of "random" circumstances that I was given a bible and began studying the teachings of Jesus Christ. The Lord's teachings became my lifeline that enabled me to be born again into a true and meaningful existence that keeps getting better and better. The Bible is the real book of wisdom. For me, there is no other.

Thank you, Lord, for being my savior and redeemer!

When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 1 Corinthians 13:11

“What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ.” Philippians 3: 8

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

Love and blessings,
