Hearing God

Having trouble hearing God? He's here; He wants to speak. He wants to guide us in doing His will. God never pulls away nor is He ever distant.

What is going on if we are having trouble hearing God?

  1. We may have unacknowledged sin in our lives.

  2. We may not be drawing close to him through prayer, bible study, praise, and worship.

  3. We may not want to hear Him because we’ve already made up our minds.

  4. We may be afraid of what we will hear.

God is on fire for us. He wants to communicate with his children. He wants to make His presence known. We need to draw near to Him. He doesn’t move. He’s always right here, closer than our breath.

It’s okay to ask God for confirmation about His direction for our lives. When Gideon asked for evidence of God’s will He freely gave it. There is no verse in the bible that says God withholds wisdom from his children if they are walking in righteousness.

Then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding; he stores up sound wisdom for the upright; he is a shield to those who walk in integrity, guarding the paths of justice and watching over the way of his saints. Then you will understand righteousness and justice and equity, every good path. Proverbs 2: 5-9
