The Lorikeets are already at work at 6 am. I hear their distinctive chatter outside the window. They seem to arrive in Perth with spring to feast on blooming banksia and red bottle brush.

What a divine creation we live in! The passing of the seasons, the lengthening of days and each day a separate life unto itself. There is so much to be thankful for.

Can you imagine life in the time of Nehemiah? Things have changed so much since 445 B.C. and yet the basics remain the same. Nehemiah had a job to do, a calling on his life. He prayed for God's assistance and then set out for Jerusalem, determined to rebuild the city walls.

God's calling on our lives always involves tasks. We must be organized and determined, not willing to listen to the enemy's lies. Nehemiah was just a man and yet he accomplished a miracle in rebuilding Jerusalem's walls in 52 days.

Are you rebuilding walls? No matter what the calling, with God's power and authority behind you, miracles can be accomplished.

I pray, Lord God of heaven, O great and awesome God, you who keep your covenant and mercy with those who love you and observe your commandments, please let your ear be attentive and your eyes open that you may hear the prayer of your servant which I pray before you now, day and night. Nehemiah 1: 5-6

Love and blessings,

Rich H.
